Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

[not yet provided] (ABN [not yet provided]) operates Kabodo. This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

Account details: name, email address, mobile number and password (stored only as a secure hash).

Verification: codes sent by SMS and email to confirm your mobile number and email address.

Consent records: when you accept these terms and subscribe, we record the time, your IP address, your browser, the terms version and the plan you chose.

Payments: Stripe processes your card. We receive and keep your Stripe customer reference, plan, subscription status and payment history — not your full card number.

Usage: pages you view (including when you are not signed in), sign-ins, sign-ups, design saves and downloads, plan choices, payments and cancellations, with date, time, IP address and browser type.

Your designs: the rooms and cabinets you save to your account.

2. Why we use it

To provide the Service and your account; to take payments and manage subscriptions; to verify accounts and prevent misuse, including repeated free trials; to keep the Service secure; to answer support requests; to send service emails (for example a reminder before a free trial ends); and to understand and improve how the Service is used.

We send marketing messages only if you agree, and every such message lets you opt out. We do not sell personal information.

3. Who we share it with

Service providers who help us run the Service: Stripe (payments), Vercel (website hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email) and Mobile Message (SMS). They may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use them only to run the Service.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

3a. Sharing with companies (quote requests)

When you request quotes, approved companies near you receive the job summary (type of work, number of cabinets, suburb and postcode, timing, budget, your notes). Up to 3 companies that accept the job receive your full design.

Your name, phone number and email go only to the company you choose, when you choose it. Companies receive this information under our Trade Terms, which require them to use it only for your job.

For companies: your business name, ABN, licence number, website and description are shown to customers with your quotes; your phone and email are shown only to a customer who chooses you. Postcode locations are calculated using GeoNames data (CC BY 4.0).

4. Cookies and browser storage

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in and a cookie to remember your language. Your current drawing and some preferences are stored in your browser so your work is not lost.

5. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Passwords are hashed; access to data is limited.

We keep account and payment records while your account is open and as long as needed for tax and legal requirements, then delete or de-identify them.

6. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing [not yet provided]. We will respond within a reasonable time.

If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first at [not yet provided]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version.
